APEX EDC is a local interactive app centered on mechanical EDC toy experiences. This document covers system requirements, lab usage guides, frequently asked questions, and troubleshooting. If you encounter an issue not listed here, please contact us using the information at the end of this document.
1. App Overview
| Item | Details |
| App Name | APEX EDC (APEX MECH) |
| Current Version | 1.0.0+1 |
| Framework | Flutter |
| Operating Mode | Fully local, no account system, no cloud sync |
| Supported Platforms | Android / iOS |
2. System Requirements
| Platform | Minimum Version | Notes |
| Android | Android 8.0 (API 26) | 10.0+ recommended for better vibration and sensor support |
| iOS | iOS 14.0 | 16.0+ recommended for optimal haptic feedback |
For a smooth experience, your device should have:
- A vibration motor (linear motor preferred) — for haptic feedback across labs;
- A gyroscope sensor — for the flame sway effect in the Tactical Lighter lab;
- Speakers or headphones — for local audio playback.
3. Lab Usage Guide
3.1 Fidget Spinner
A simulated mechanical fidget spinner with rotational interaction.
- Start Spinning: Swipe or drag quickly across the spinner surface. The spinner will rotate based on your swipe speed.
- Drive Modes: Three preset modes — Smooth (gliding), Balanced (neutral feel), Burst (strong burst). Switch between them at the bottom of the lab.
- Change Skin: Tap the skin button to open the selection panel and change the spinner's appearance.
- RPM Display: An immersive RPM readout updates in real-time with the current speed.
3.2 Detent Slider
Simulates the detent feel and mechanical sound feedback of a magnetic slider.
- Sliding: Drag the slider vertically or horizontally. Crossing detent points triggers vibration and sound effects.
- Detent Count: Choose 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 magnetic detents in the lab settings.
- Magnetic Strength: Adjust the slider's snap feel. Range: 0–120.
- Slider Orientation: Switch between vertical and horizontal sliding directions.
- Change Skin: Supports different slider appearance styles.
3.3 Tactical Lighter
Simulates the flame interaction of a tactical lighter, using the device gyroscope to sway the flame with the device angle.
- Ignite: Press the ignition button to produce a flame with dynamic particle effects.
- Flame Sway: Tilt your device — the flame direction changes in real-time based on gyroscope data.
- Sound Toggle: Enable or disable ignition and combustion sounds in settings.
3.4 Ghost EDC
An interactive "Ghost"-themed flip card.
- View Card: Tap or swipe to flip the card and reveal different ghost/skull patterns.
- Card Flick: Swipe up on the card to trigger a "card flick" animation.
- Change Skin: Supports themed skins for the Ghost EDC card.
3.5 Commemorative Coin
Simulates coin tossing interaction.
- Toss: Tap or swipe up to toss the coin. The coin will flip and land.
- Landing Feedback: Vibration and a crisp sound play when the coin lands.
3.6 Achievements
Tracks your milestone data across all labs. A notification appears when a new achievement is unlocked.
- View Achievements: Go to the achievements page from the home screen or settings to browse all achievements and their progress.
- Achievement Notification: When a new achievement is earned, a floating banner appears at the top of the screen.
- Data Persistence: Achievement progress is saved locally. Uninstalling the app will reset all data.
4. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: The app crashes or won't launch. What should I do?
- Ensure your device meets the minimum system requirements (Android 8.0 / iOS 14.0).
- Try restarting your device and reopening the app.
- If the crash persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
Q: Why doesn't the flame in the Lighter lab sway?
- Make sure your device has a gyroscope sensor and that system permissions are not restricted.
- Some budget devices may not have a gyroscope. In that case, the flame will appear static.
Q: No vibration feedback on the Slider or Spinner?
- Check that system vibration is enabled on your device.
- Make sure haptic feedback is not turned off in the app settings.
- Some older devices have weaker vibration motors — this is normal.
Q: Sound still plays after I turned it off?
- The global sound toggle controls all lab audio output. If sound persists after turning it off, try restarting the app.
Q: My app settings or achievement data is lost. What now?
- App data is stored locally. Clearing app data, uninstalling the app, or switching devices will cause data loss that cannot be recovered.
- We recommend backing up your device data periodically if needed.
Q: How do I reset all settings?
- The app does not currently include a one-click reset. You can clear app data in your system settings to restore the initial state.
Q: Haptic feedback on iOS feels weaker than on Android?
- Linear motor parameters vary across devices. We are continuously optimizing haptic feedback performance on all platforms.
5. Troubleshooting Steps
5.1 General Troubleshooting
- Confirm the app is up to date (current version 1.0.0+1).
- Confirm the OS version meets minimum requirements.
- Restart the app or your device.
- Uninstall and reinstall the app (note: this will delete all local data).
5.2 Sensor Issues
- Open your device's "Compass" or "Level" app to check if the gyroscope is working.
- If the system's own sensor apps also do not work, it may be a hardware issue.
- If system sensors work but APEX EDC does not respond, please contact us via the email at the end of this document.
5.3 Audio Issues
- Check if your device is in silent mode (iOS side switch / Android media volume).
- Check if the global sound toggle is enabled in the app.
- Try plugging and unplugging headphones before testing again.
6. Permissions
| Permission | Purpose | Required |
| Vibration | Haptic feedback across labs | No (visual interaction works without vibration) |
| Gyroscope | Lighter flame sway | No (static display when gyroscope is unavailable) |
| Local Storage | Save preferences and achievement progress | Yes (used automatically by the app) |
7. Known Issues and Limitations
- On some Android devices, vibration intensity may decrease in battery saver mode. This behavior is controlled by the system.
- The flame particle effects in the Lighter lab perform more smoothly on high-refresh-rate screens.
- The app currently does not support cloud sync. Data cannot be migrated when switching devices.
- Achievement progress is saved locally only. Clearing app data will result in unrecoverable loss.
